Dore Gold warns against arming the Saudis

Israel's former ambassador to the UN, and current president of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, Dore Gold, has warned that America's $20billion arms deal with Saudi Arabia poses potential dangers for Israel.

Gold says that Israel received reports that during interrogations, al qaeda captives revealed that the terrorist group had penetrated the Saudi air force and that it was to take control of several F-15's based in Tabuk which is near Eilat, and fly the planes into skyscrapers in Tel Aviv.

"From the pattern of past al-Qaeda attacks in Saudi Arabia, many western observers have concluded that elements of the Saudi national guard colluded with the attackers. Which only further substantiates Western concern that al-Qaeda has penetrated different branches of Saudi Armed forces.

So even without a militant Islamic takeover in Saudi Arabia, there are multiple sources of concern for Israel and United States," he added. Gold also cited figures according to which half of the insurgents in Iraq who emarbarked on a jihad against coalition forces were Saudi.

"There is abundant evidence, despite the efforts of Saudi security forces to quell al-Qaeda in the Kingdom, that large parts of Saudi Arabia have become a hot house for radical Sunni Islam," Gold warned.

An America Defense Department official has said that the threat of Shiite Iran to Sunni states such as Saudi Arabia makes this arms deal necessary. Olmert for his part accepts this point of view and has said that Israel understands the U.S. need to support "moderate" Arab states and that there is also a need for a united front between Israel and the U.S. concerning Iran.

Iran, for its part, condemned the arms deal, and charged on Monday that the US was trying to create a "horror scenario" in the Middle East. But the American attempt to arm Sunni states to deal with the Shiite Iranian threat was misguided, Gold said.

"The current radical Islamic wave that Western alliance is facing has two sources. First, the Islamic revolution in Iran led by Ayatollah Khamenei. And the second is the rise of al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, much of which is backed by Saudi Arabia. Therefore an effective counter-strategy has to take into account both sources of the problem," he said.

Gold has also said that Israel suffers from a certain myopia, forgetting that 15 of the 19 hijackers were saudis, and saudis were the primary funders of hamas during the height of suicide bombings.

He also calls for a clarification from the Bush administration on whether the president's written pledge to Sharon that Israel will not be made to withdraw to the pre-'67 lines, still stands.

I would add also that Saudi Arabia still funds wahhabi mosques and madrassas which incite hatred and violence against infidels, as well as its continued funding of terrorist groups. Saudi Arabia has failed to cooperate on Iraq and the war on terrorism in general. King Abdullah has referred to America's military presence in Iraq as "illegitimate" and he has also demanded the release of saudi prisoners in Gitmo, to which we have foolishly complied. Physician and researcher Daphne Burdman provides a deep and thorough analysis of how koranic and hadith teachings, indoctrination and incitement to hatred and violence, sexual and physical abuse during childhood, arab society's strongly collectivist, patriarchal and authoritarian nature, and its opposition to individuality, has been the incubator for creating terrorists.

She points out that physical and sexual abuse are the norm in arab-islamic culture, with the frequency and severity of corporal punishment being much greater there than it is in the west which extends to whipping, thrashing and worse. Also a recent survey of palestinian society reveals that as high as 50% of boys and 31% of girls age 6-12 have been sexually abused.

This confirms what I have been saying about arab-muslim culture being severely dysfunctional socially, emotionally, sexually and psychologically. I have even said islam is a mental disorder. Daphne Burdman's article is quite lengthy but well worth reading to get insight into the madness we are faced with.

Burdman’s article gives further details of a nightmare world that is difficult for Westerners to imagine:



Circumcision without anesthesia is a prime trauma performed from ages four to twelve or thirteen. Older boys are usually aware, but younger ones are unprepared for the surgery, only having been told about celebration aspects. Bravery is emphasized; expressions of pain are disdained....

Breastfeeding of boys continues until age two or three and is permissive, with demand feeding, but termination is abrupt. This constitutes a massive perceived rejection with consequent emotional trauma. . . .

Also significant is the effect of a mother who has been beaten or degraded by male relatives, and who may have undergone female genital mutilation. . . . Such violence renders these mothers depressed, apathetic, and emotionally unavailable, or hostile and angry. . . .

Why, then, do these horrors not just produce criminality on an individual level, and why is so much Palestinian, and other Arab, aggression so collectivized in nature? For that too there are reasons, again rooted in vast cultural differences that many Westerners do not begin to grasp.

“In individualistic Western societies,” Burdman writes, “the affected individual may rebel against family and society, frequently with criminality.” But because of Arab society’s “strongly collectivist and patriarchal nature, the individual characteristically does not criminally act out against the mores of family and society.” Instead the suppressed rage gets directed at “a socially endorsed target—in this case, Jews and Israel.”

This “authoritarian nature of Arab society” is

manifested in teaching methods involving rote learning and the disallowance of disparate opinion, in schools and in the patriarchal home where absolute obedience and corporal punishment are norms, and in societal pressures for conformity of thought and deed, both personal and political. Bernard Lewis . . . affirms that “immunity from critical comment or discussion is accepted as normal even in ostensibly secular and democratic Muslim societies.”

With such realities in mind, the fact that intensified diplomacy, aid, and Israeli concessions in the Palestinian sphere since the early 1990s have only produced more drastic Palestinian hatred and violence starts to make sense. The now popular dichotomy between Hamas and Fatah—most of the latter being less religiously observant but both a product and engine of the same societal pathology—is revealed in its stark irrationality and irresponsibility. Indeed, the fact that Israeli and other Western politicians, in every new set of “sweeteners” for the Palestinians, make sure to include massive releases and pardons of terrorists along with weapons deliveries, suggests at least a subconscious awareness of whom they are really propitiating along with an appalling bad faith and cowardice.

As Burdman puts it, “only fundamental changes in education and childrearing will change the predisposition of such a national culture.”

Fatah admits hamas infiltration

Aaron Klein reports exclusively for WND that fatah has admitted its forces have been thoroughly infiltrated by hamas, just as the U.S. is sending large quantities of weaponry to fatah.

...Fatah's admission of infiltration by Hamas and the terror group's vows to take over the West Bank and seize U.S. weapons come as the U.S. today sent more weaponry to Fatah. Truckloads containing 3,000 assault rifles were delivered to Fatah security compounds in the West Bank cities of Jericho and Ramallah. Israeli and Palestinian security sources speaking to WND said the weapons, which were trucked in from Jordan, were financed by the U.S. and E.U

Yesterday, a U.S. shipment of 3,000 assault rifles, 1 million rounds of ammunition and a truckload of bullet proof vests also was received by Fatah security forces.

Palestinian security sources said more weapons are expected to arrive tomorrow.

The Committees' Abdel-El vowed to obtain the American weapons:

"We already are planning to obtain the weapons with help from the Palestinian resistance, including elements in Fatah, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and the Fatah Security Services," he told WND.

"Abbas, the Zionists and the Americans didn't learn from the lessons of Gaza. While your (American) government transferred weapons in a conspiracy against Hamas in Gaza, we warned we would take control and this happened. We say the same thing this time. These weapons transferred to Abbas will be obtain[ed] by us," said Abdel-El.

Sudan blames Jews for its own barbarism

Sudan's defense minister Abdel Rahim Mohamed Hussein blames Jews for the fact that his murderous regime is carrying out a genocidal slaughter in Darfur. He told a Saudi newspaper that 24 Jewish organizations are fueling the conflict in Darfur. This is all too typical of the infantile mindset of the average muslim who, being emotionally retarded, refuses to accept responsibility for the unspeakable horrors, the massive death and destruction that their barbaric 7th century death cult causes around the world. Honestly, what is not to despise about islam?

..."The Darfur issue is being fuelled by 24 Jewish organizations, who are making the largest amount of noise over the issue, and using the Holocaust in their campaigning," the Sudanese defense minister replied.

Yes, how dare those troublemaking Jews expose this evil regime's heinous crimes against humanity and aid its suffering victims. Judaism, and Christianity for that matter, both represent the polar opposite of islam. While we value the sanctity of life, islam worships death, violent death at that. Hussein added that the Darfur conflict was driven by "friction between farmers and herders and shepherds. Among the biggest problems is that of water, which is used to exploit the differences and fuel the conflict."

"Are these Jewish groups supporting (the rebels) financially?," the interviewer from Okaz asked Hussein.

"Yes, they provide political and material support through their control over the media and across American and British circles," Hussein said, adding that Jewish groups were using "all means to fuel these conflicts."

He added that Western reports of 200,000 people dying in Sudan were false, and said: "We talk about 9,000 dead as a result of either government or rebel actions."

'We came to Israel to look for a better place'
Several days ago, Sudan's Interior Minister, Zubair Bashir Taha, lashed out at Sudanese refuees who had sought asylum in Israel, and accused "Isaeli authorities of encouraging the Sudanese refugees to come to their country."


He added that his ministry was "very confused" by Sudanese citizens who came to Israel."


The Sudan Tribune quoted a Sudanese refugee as telling al-Jazeera television: "We were surprised when we came here. We met good people, who welcomed us and gave us food. We feel that we are extremely happy. We hope that the Israeli government would find a solution for us and our children. We came here to look for a better place."


Meanwhile, in the US, a number of Jewish organizations have attempted to raise awareness over the plight of Sudanese citizens who face mass killings and ethnic cleansing from the Sudanese government. Some 20 Jewish organizations joined the 'Save Darfur Coalition,' along with other religious communities and American civil rights groups.

Man charged with hate crimes over a book

Stanislav Shmulevich of Brooklyn was arrested on hate crimes charges for merely throwing a koran in a toilet on two different occasions at Pace University. He was charged with criminal mischief and aggravated harrassment.

...The Islamic holy book was found in a toilet at Pace's lower Manhattan campus by a teacher on Oct. 13. A student discovered another book in a toilet on Nov. 21, police said.

Muslim activists had called on Pace University to crack down on hate crimes after the incidents. As a result, the university said it would offer sensitivity training to its students.

The school was accused by Muslim students of not taking the incident seriously enough at first. Pace classified the first desecration of the holy book as an act of vandalism, but university officials later reversed themselves and referred the incident to the New York Police Department's hate crimes unit.

The incidents came amid a spate of vandalism cases with religious or racial overtones at the school. In an earlier incident on Sept. 21, the school reported another copy of the Quran was found in a library toilet, and in October someone scrawled racial slurs on a student's car at the Westchester County satellite campus and on a bathroom wall at the campus in lower Manhattan. Police did not connect Shmulevich to those incidents.

Treatment of the Quran is a sensitive issue for Muslims, who view the book as a sacred object and mistreating it as an offense against God. The religion teaches that the Quran is the direct word of God.

Wahhh, Too damn bad, they ought to just get over it. A toilet is exactly where the koran belongs. I'm sick of muslims receiving preferential treatment. If this man had done the same thing to a bible he certainly would not have been charged with hate crimes. And how ironic that those who oppose islam are forced to receive sensitivity training when in fact it should be muslims themselves who are forced to receive sensitivity training, since islam is the most intolerant, hateful ideology on the face of the Earth. Not that such training would even make the least bit of difference in their case.

In 2005, Newsweek magazine published and later retracted a story claiming U.S. interrogators at a prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, flushed a copy of the holy book down a toilet. The report sparked deadly demonstrations in Afghanistan and protests throughout the Middle East.

Pace University has 14,000 students on its campuses in New York City and Westchester County.

Messages left for school administrators and for officials with the New York and national chapters of the Council on American-Islamic Relations were not immediately returned Friday evening.

Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the national CAIR office in Washington, D.C., has said the organization receives frequent reports of Quran desecrations in the United States, especially postings on Internet sites, but seldom makes them public.

He said CAIR decided to speak out about the Pace incidents because Muslim students are impacted by the creation of what could be viewed as a hostile campus environment.

Again the irony of a muslim group accusing others of creating a hostile campus environment given the reality that muslim groups and their leftist enablers have created an extremely hostile anti-American and antisemitic environment on university and college campuses nationwide.

Huge arms deal for Saudi Arabia

In spite of the fact that saudi arabia is still funding terrorists and pouring millions into madrassas where youths are indoctrinated to hatred and violence against Americans, Jews and westerners in general, despite the fact that the saudis are also pouring millions into wahabbi mosques where imams preach the most extreme and henious anti-Americanism and antisemitism, and despite the fact that Saudi Arabia does not recognize Israel and continues to participate in the Arab boycott against Israel, even though the saudis were supposed to end the boycott as a precondition to being granted membership in the WTO, nevertheless the U.S. is determined to grant Saudi Arabia a $20million arms deal which will include advanced satellite-guided bombs, upgrades to its fighters and new naval vessels. Other gulf countries, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the UAE will also receive equipment and weaponry as part of the deal.

The U.S. wants to upgrade these countries air and missile defense systems and improve their navies and air forces. This is all being done in response to the growing power of Iran and as a way for the U.S. to demonstrate its committment to its arab allies.

Naturally the Israelis are concerned, therefore in order to alleviate its concerns, the U.S. intends to increase military aid to Israel, as well as ask the saudis to accept restrictions on the range, size and location of the satellite-guided bombs and not to store weapons at air bases close to Israeli territory. Of course the saudis will agree to these conditions then renage on them just as they did regarding the boycott against Israel.

Sheikh delays plane over seating arrangement

A slimy qatari sheikh and his entourage were thrown off a British Airways plane from Milan's Linate airport after holding up the flight for three hours when he discovered that three of his female relatives were seated next to men they did not know and proceeded to complain. According to the medieval traditions of this backward arab-muslim culture, women are barred from mixing with unrelated men.

The other passengers in business class refused to be dhimmis and did not agree to swap seats. Good for them. And good for the pilot for putting this arrogant, islamo-supremicist sheikh in his place and throwing the scumbag and his entourage off the plane. Westerners need to let muslims know that we will not capitulate to their absurd, unreasonable demands. Watch the seething and accusations of islamophobia begin. But we shouldn't care. We ought not to let fear over muslim reaction prevent us from doing the right thing.

Lebanon paper reports one of the captive soldiers is dead

Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar reportedly quotes German security sources as saying one of the captive IDF soldiers being held by the cruel, vicious monsters of hezbollah is dead.

...According to the report, senior diplomatic sources in Berlin said that the German government had begun to get seriously involved in negotiations for the release of captive soldiers, Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser.


The report said that the Germans were in direct contact with the Christian general, Michel Aoun, who is currently in the midst of a presidential campaign in Lebanon.



The diplomats were trying to get information regarding the fate of the two soldiers, who were kidnapped by Hizbullah last July. However, Aoun, who is cooperating with Hizbullah against the Siniora government, refused to comment on the issue

Goldwasser's parents disbelieve the report and Ehud's mother Miki Goldwasser said that hezbollah is playing a pychological game.

...“As for us, this information will only be real when the Red Cross visits them, or a tape is presented to us,” she added.



The issue of the kidnapped soldiers continues to make waves in Israel, as well as Lebanon. While Israel demands a sign of life from the two soldiers, Hizbullah Secretary-General Hasan Nasrallah said he would not give away information about Regev and Goldwasser for free.



“I’m the only one authorized to give information about their condition,” Nasrallah said in an interview with Al-Jazeera.

This is what happens when you don't fight a war to win. Instead of taking the soldiers back by force and annihilating hezbollah, Israel's pathetic leadership weakly fought hezbollah and used half-measures which wound up strengthening the position of the hezbollah terrorist scum. There should not have been a member of hezbollah left alive or roaming free, including nasrallah.

British PM Brown won't rule out military strike on Iran

In an encouraging sign, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown told a news conference that he has not ruled out taking military action against Iran to prevent it from obtaining nuclear weapons. He does say though that he believes the current sanctions policy will work. I strongly disagree that sanctions will be enough to force Iran to end its pursuit of nuclear bombs. He also said there will probably be a third UN sanctions resolution against Iran.

..."I firmly believe that the sanctions policy that we are pursuing will work, but I'm not one who's going forward to say that we rule out any particular form of action," Brown told a news conference, when asked if he would rule out a military strike against Iran.

..."There will probably be a third resolution in relation to Iran soon ... I appeal to the Iranian authorities to understand the feelings that other countries have about the development of a nuclear weapons program," he said.

..."This new (U.N. sanctions) resolution, which we would like to be firm, should clearly indicate to Iran that its obstinacy is leading to its increased isolation, which is bad for its economy, its population and its openness to the world."

Turkey views Israel as the country they trust most

Despite the election victory of islamists in Turkey, Turkish ambassador to Israel Namik Tan reassured a panel organized by the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, that the close Israeli-Turkish frienship will continue.

During his address, Tan sought to reassure Israeli concerns about the results of the Turkish events, and alay fears that Turkey was embarking on a process of Islamification.


He described questions by Israelis on whether they could continue to visit Turkey as "ridiculous," declaring: "Whatever party comes into power doesn't make any difference on our principle stance of seeing Israel as a close and friendly ally."


"After these elections, nothing will change," he said.


"Turkey will continue to be a popular destination for Israeli tourists of course, we are honored to host them in our country," Tan said, adding that Turkey's close military relations with Israel would continue.


"We will do our best to help our friends in Israel. We will continue to be a real example of democracy in this troubled region, together with Israel. The important cooperation between our two countries in every mode of life will continue to flourish," Tan said.

Russia is still the evil empire

Russia is still the dangerous enemy it was during the time of the Soviet Union, even though our leaders won't acknowledge this fact. It is doing everything in its power to protect Iran from a possible U.S. or Israeli strike against its nuclear facilities, thus ensuring Iran will become a nuclear military power able to destroy Israel. Putin is a vicious fiend, an enemy of freedom, the same KGB scoundrel he was during the cold war. The question is why doesn't Israel treat Russia as an enemy that is out to destroy it? Why did the Olmert government actually praise Russia for having a positive role in the Middle East?

Debkafile reports that Iran will buy 250 long-distance Sukhoi fighter-bombers and 20 fuel tanks from Russia.

Tehran and the Russian Rosoboronexport arms group are about to sign a mammoth arms deal running into tens of billions of dollars for the sale to Tehran of 250 Su-30MKM warplanes and 20 IL-78 MKI fuel tankers. DEBKAfile’s military sources report Iran has stipulated delivery of the first aircraft before the end of 2007.

The transaction, Russia’s largest arms deal in 30 years, will endow Iran with a long-range aerial assault capability. The Sukhoi can sustain a four-and-a-half hour raid at its maximum range of 3,000 km against long-distance, marine and low-lying ground targets across the Persian Gulf and Middle East, including Israel and Lebanon.

The fuel tankers extends the Su-30MKM’s assault sustainability to 10 hours and its range to 8,000 km at altitudes of 11-13 km. The closest comparable plane in the West is the American F-15E fighter bomber. Iran’s acquisition of an exceptionally large fleet of the Russian fighter-bomber will elevate its air force to one of the two largest and most advanced in the region, alongside the Israeli Air Force.

Iranian air crews are already training on the new Sukhoi aircraft, ready to start flying them early next year with only a short delay after delivery. DEBKAfile’s sources report that Moscow is selling Tehran the same Sukhoi model as India received earlier this year. The Iranians leaned hard on New Delhi to let them have the Israeli avionics and electronics the Indian Air Force had installed in the Russian craft. India refused.

Russia began delivering the same craft in June to Malaysia, which also sought Israeli avionics without success. The Su-20MKM has won the nickname of “Islamic Version of Sukhoi.”

Its two-member crew shares the workload. The first pilot flies the aircraft, controls weapons and maneuvers the plane in a dogfight. The co-pilot employs BVR air-to-air and air-to-ground guided weapons in long-range engagements, sweeps the arena for enemy craft or missiles and performs as command-and-control in group missions.

Some of the plane’s systems are products of the French Thales Airborne Systems company. Moscow’s contract with Tehran for the sale of the Su-30MKM must therefore be cleared with Paris.

There is no decision in Jerusalem about asking Paris to withhold its consent to a deal which would substantially upgrade the long-range air assault capabilities of the Islamic Republic whose leaders want to wipe Israel off the map. However, President Nicolas Sarkozy is in mid-momentum of a diplomatic drive in the Arab and Muslim world and unlikely to be receptive to an Israeli approach. The only chance of aborting the Russian sale would be to route the approach through Washington.

Believe it or not, French president Nicholas Sarkozy has actually said that the west should trust Arab countries who wish to acquire civilian nuclear power.

"Preventing these countries from producing nuclear energy will leave them behind and will increase the risk of a war of civilisations"

Sarkozy also invited hezbollah representatives to participate in talks with Lebanese factions which were held in France this month. So much for the notion that Sarkozy is a different kind of French leader who will push France in a more pro-American and pro-Israel direction. It turns out he is as much of a scoundrel as his predecessors were, and will continue their dhimmitude anti-American, anti-Israel foreign policy ways.

U.S. torpedoes N. Korean ship bound for Iran

It's being reported that the U.S. Navy and Air Force intercepted and sank two North Korean ships bound for Iran, which were carrying cargoes of enriched uranium and nuclear equipment for the past month. I certainly hope this story is for real and that we have finally acquired some backbone and determination in preventing Iran from obtaining nukes.

"How close were we to seeing an armed nuclear conflict?" That is the question being asked as Syrian nationals temporarily vacated Beirut, Lebanon and the Jordan Valley during mid July according to sources close to ACG-CIS. Many security and intelligence officials believe that this behavior may have been related to the US sinking of a North Korean ship approximately 100 nautical miles from the coast of Iran.

...On July 12, the second intercepted North Korean freighter was sunk in the Arabian Sea by torpedoes fired from a US submarine 100 miles southeast of the Iranian naval base-port of Chah Bahar. Delivery of its freight of enriched weapons-grade uranium and equipment and engines for manufacturing more fissile material including plutonium in its hold could have jump-forwarded Iran's nuclear bomb and warhead project, lopping off at least a year of work. For this Iran's rulers were ready to reportedly pay out a cool $500 million.

A few hours earlier, President Bush received an intelligence briefing on the vessel, its freight and destination. Apparently the shipment was brought forward by several weeks to evade detection by UN nuclear inspectors scheduled to visit Pyongyang this week to verify the dismantling of its nuclear facilities.

US airplanes had been tracking the freighter and picked up signs of radioactivity, indicating the presence of nuclear materials aboard.

President Bush had the option of ordering US Marines to board the vessel or to sink it. He decided on the latter - both because the North Korean freighter was approaching an area patrolled by Iranian naval units and seizure of the vessel by American marines might have provoked a clash; secondly, it was the better choice in order to avoid exposing US troops to radioactive contamination. American naval and air units in the Persian Gulf, Middle East and seas opposite North Korea were ordered to go on a high state of readiness and the torpedo the North Korean vessel was accomplished without delay.

After the attack, US warships raced to the spot where the ship went down where they picked up three lifeboats. Most of the North Korean sailors aboard were either injured or dead. Twenty in all died in the attack. They all bore symptoms of contamination. After the episode, the area was cordoned off and underwater equipment dropped to salvage the cargo from the sunken ship.

All the parties to the incident, the United States, North Korea and Iran, have kept the incident under wraps as the situation in and around the Gulf is inflammable enough to explode into a full-blown Iranian-US clash at the slightest provocation.

There was also the danger that North Korea might decide at the last moment to abort the closure of its nuclear facilities.

The Afghan government has until noon Friday to release captured Taliban fighters in exchange for South Korean hostages or else more Koreans will be executed, a spokesman for the insurgents said.

The latest of several Taliban deadlines for the lives of the South Koreans was given Thursday, a day after one hostage, a 42-year-old pastor, was shot dead. The South Korean government expressed outrage at the slaying, and vowed those responsible would be held accountable.

One of the 22 surviving hostages, who identified herself as Yo Syun Ju, told an Afghan journalist by telephone all the hostages were sick, the British Broadcasting Corp. reported. She pleaded for help to secure their release.

"Tell them to do something to get us released," she said in an interview which was carried out by phone in the presence of the Taliban militants holding her captive and obtained by the BBC.

Car bomb explodes near Iraqi children's hospital

Satanic jihadi scum slaughter women and children across from a children's hospital. I'm sure that it's somehow the fault of America and Israel though, not the fault of Michael Moore's "minute men" who are simply "resisting" the U.S. occupation.

HILLA, Iraq (AFP) - A suicide car bomb exploded across the street from a children's hospital in the Iraqi city of Hilla on Tuesday, killing at least 26 people and wounding 69, police and medical officials said.



"Most of the wounded were women and children, and the blast destroyed 15 vehicles and about 20 nearby shops," said Lieutenant Eid al-Shammari of the local police.

Doctor Mohammed Dhia, head surgeon at the Hilla hospital confirmed the casualties, adding that 25 of those wounded had serious injuries, including severe burns.

Medical officials earlier confirmed that bodies had been evacuated to two hospitals in the area.

The bombing in a mostly Shiite town came hours before the US ambassador to Iraq and his Iranian counterpart met in a second round of face-to-face talks aimed at controlling Iraq's spiralling violence.

It was not immediately clear who was behind the bombing, but in the past such attacks have been blamed on Sunni insurgent groups such as Al-Qaeda in Iraq, which is trying to overthrow Iraq's US-backed government and foment unrest.

Syria threatening war against Israel

After having assessed the results of the second Lebanon war, an anonymous Syrian official in the Syrian Ministry of Defense has told "Defense News Weekly" that the country has determined that its next war with Israel will involve ballistic missile attacks on civilian infrastructure and front-line guerilla warfare. The official said it will be a war of attrition, which the Israelis are not good at.

Two years ago Russia partially forgave Syria's $11Billion dollar debt which was also partially covered by Iran. Since then, Syria has been acquiring massive amounts of anti-tank missiles, anti-aircraft missiles and cruise missiles from Russia.

The Syrian army has 650,000 soldiers and 340,000 reservists, but its tanks are outdated Soviet models and its air force is inferior to Israel's.

This is what happens when you employ half-measures and tit for tat strikes instead of fighting a war to win. Such indecisive and feeble leadership invites more aggression from your enemies and eventually leads to a broader war. Between the failure of the second Lebanon war and the passive response to continued hamas missile strikes, the Olmert government has destroyed Israel's deterrence. With all of the looming threats on the horizon, this is the worst possible leadership that Israel can have. I have no confidence that the Olmert government can adequately safeguard Israel and defeat its enemies in a major war.

The London-based daily Al-Sharq al-Awsat recently reported that Syria has deployed Chinese C-802 cruise missiles, which it acquired from Iran. In addition, Russia has expressed its willingness to sell the Syrians its Iskander missile, which has a range of 280 kilometers, more than enough to strike at any destination in Israel. The missile features an optical GPS navigational system that allows operators to guide it to their targets.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat also reported Saturday that Iran secretly promised Syria it would provide $1 billion for buying advanced weapons and assist it with nuclear research and the development of chemical weapons, in exchange for a Syrian promise not to enter diplomatic negotiations with Israel. However, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman dismissed the report as a "media game" and asked how the media could know about the deal if it was confidential.

Arab affairs experts also questioned the veracity of the report, noting that it was written by an exiled Iranian who may simply have wanted to portray Iran's leadership in a bad light.

New fatah terror group threatens Israel

No sooner does Israel foolishly grant amnesty to 178 fatah terrorist thugs then another terrorist cell is formed in the northern West Bank by an offshoot of the fatah al aqsa martyrs brigades. The group is known as the abu ammar brigades, formed in 2004 in memory of arafat who was also known by that name. The group has threatened to perpetrate attacks against Israel.

This is a tactic which was used by arafat during the Oslo era. In order to circumvent the obligation for arafat to prevent and fight terrorism which the Oslo accords required of him, terrorist cells would be formed under alternative names to carry out attacks against Israel while at the same time arafat and fatah could officially claim to not be responsible.

Anyway, who other than the idiots in the Olmert government didn't see this coming? How is it that the Israeli government has failed to learn from recent history? I'm quite sure that the U.S. government had a hand in pressuring the weak Olmert into this dangerous deal.

...Abu Muhammad said his new West Bank cell of the Abu Ammar Brigades formed in recent days and is comprised of "tens" of Fatah fighters who have not turned in their weapons in line with amnesty agreements signed with Israel.

He said the Abu Ammar Brigades are working as part of Fatah but he claimed attacks aren't coordinated with the Fatah leadership. He said attacks would continue in spite of Israeli pledges to refrain from targeting Fatah militants.

Abu Muhammad said his cell already has committed attacks against Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank, including two shootings and one failed grenade attack. He claimed although some members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades may be in his group, the Abu Ammar Brigades is "working independently."

He slammed Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades members who accepted amnesty as "neglecting the resistance and allowing other groups, like Islam Jihad, to take on the main role of fighting the occupation."

He said his Abu Ammar Brigades cell members would "never" turn in their weapons.

"Even if we don't target Israel, we've carried out killings in the past of (Palestinian) collaborators with Israel. What if family members of those killed seek revenge? We need our weapons to protect from such things," he said.

Abu Muhammad said the Abu Ammar Brigades would refrain from committing suicide bombings and would restrict its attacks to "only targets in the West Bank."

One Israeli security official contacted about the purported new Abu Ammar Brigades cell speculated the group is being used by Fatah militants as a way to attack Israel while distancing themselves from operations due to commitments to cease terrorism.

Double standard

The civilian death toll at the Nahr el-Bared refugee camp in northern Lebanon may have exceeded 200 since fighting began between the Lebanese army and the palestinian fatah al-islam terrorist group. Prior to that time the camp had up to 40,000 residents, now that number may stand below 100 as most of the refugees have fled. Since the beginning of the conflict, the Red Cross has been unable to deliver food, water and medicine to the residents of the camp because the army is refusing to grant safe passage.

Since it wasn't Jews who perpetrated the slaughter, the international community has largely been indifferent to what may turn out to have been a massacre and ethnic cleansing at Nahr el-Bared camp. Had this been done by Israel, I don't need to tell you what would have been the response by the UN, EU, human rights groups, the arab world etc. There would be no end to global media coverage and strident rhetoric about how evil Israel is, and the UN would be holding emergency sessions and pushing resolutions that would certainly have most of the nations of the world voting to condemn Israel's actions. As I have said previously, the international community does not really care at all about the Palestinians unless they can blame their plight on Israel. This proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that the true motivation behind the palestinian cause has always been about the liquidation of Israel. I have yet to hear a logical explanation from Israel's critics regarding why they apply such blatant double standards.

Syria's ethnic cleansing of the Kurds

Joseph Puder in Frontpagemag gives a detailed account of the history of Syria's ethnic cleansing of its Kurdish population, which continues to this day. The ruthless tyrant bashar assad carries on his father's evil legacy. Because the Syrian press is controlled by the assad regime itself, and prevents access to the foreign press, the abuse inflicted on the Kurds is not being reported. It is mostly through letters and faxes from persecuted Kurds that has enabled this story to get out. Forced Arabization and the destruction of the Kurd's, as well as other indigenous peoples own cultures and languages, has long been a method of the Arabs. So while the Arabs falsely accuse Israel of ethnic cleansing, apartheid, colonialism, racism etc., it is the Arabs themselves who are guilty of all of the above atrocities and much worse, against non-Arab, non-Muslim populations throughout the Middle East and beyond.

The champion of pan-Arabism, Egypt’s former President Gamal Abdel Nasser, was the first to consider the Arabization of the Kurdish region of Hasakah when he led the United Arab Republic (UAR) - a merger between Syria and Egypt that lasted from 1958-1961. In 1959, the UAR government began to settle Arabs in the Derrick area, located on the west bank of the Tigris River. Nasser had hopes of transferring 1.5 million landless Egyptians to the Kurdish region of Syria, and managed to establish at least two villages populated by Egyptians.



According to Sherkoh Abbas, President of the Kurdistan National Assembly-Syria, “The UAR government was determined to inflict maximum damage on the Kurds because they were viewed as agents of Israel. In 1960, the Syrian government issued a decree that denied the Kurds the right of grazing livestock on their own land. As a result, millions of livestock perished of starvation, causing the Kurds severe economic hardship.”



In 1961, agents of the UAR’s government deliberately torched a movie theatre in the Kurdish city of Amude. Three hundred Kurdish students were forced into the theatre to watch a film on the Algerian Revolution. The doors were then locked and they set the theatre on fire. All 300 youngsters were burned alive.



When the UAR broke up, Syria was in a chaotic state for 18 months. By March 1963 the National Council of the Revolutionary Command (NCRC), led by a group of leftist Syrian military officers, and civilian officials of the Baath party were installed, taking over the executive and legislative functions of government.



As soon as the Baathists came to power, they announced a program of Agrarian Reform, which ostensibly meant the confiscation of Kurdish land. The land would be used to build the “Arab Belt,” a euphemism for ethnic cleansing, and serve as a buffer zone between Syrian Kurds and their brethren in Turkey and Iraq. “The Baathists seized Kurdish lands in 1966 and continued to do so well into the 1970’s and 1980’s,” Sherkoh Abbas asserted, “In 1974, the regime of Hafez Al-Assad created a buffer zone, ethnically cleansing the Kurds along the Turkish border at a depth of 35 km. Now, his son Bashar Assad is doing the same by creating a buffer-zone along the Iraqi border, to separate Syrian from Iraqi Kurds.”

Rising antisemitism in Britain

The rising level of antisemitic attacks, both verbal and physical in Britain has many British Jews concerned that there is no future for them in that country. The chief sources of antisemitism in Britain are coming from the triumvirate of neo-nazis, extreme leftists and muslims.

Jeremy Roberts will always remember February 22, the night his innocence was shattered.

At 11:45 that night, Roberts, an 18-year-old student at London Metropolitan University, left the school’s library. As always, he was wearing the skullcap of an observant Jew.

As he walked hurriedly through the rain-soaked streets of East London, a shabby neighborhood that has historically been the home of new immigrants, he noticed a man following him. The man yelled, “You F---ing Jew.”

Roberts kept walking, and then the man hurled a bottle. It met its mark and knocked Roberts unconscious.

His last memory, he said in a recent interview, was that "My face felt wet."

A passerby called an ambulance, and Roberts was treated for a gaping head wound and examined for brain injuries.

The attack on this young man was not an isolated one; it illustrates the rising level of anti-Semitic activity in Britain.

The British government itself condemns the rising incidence of anti-Semitism and has vowed aggressive action against it. The government emphasized, in a report on March 29, that it will not tolerate mistreatment of Britain's Jews.

“There is probably a greater feeling of discomfort, greater concerns, greater fears about anti-Semitism than there have been for many decades,” Henry Grunwald, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, recently told a bipartisan parliamentary committee investigating anti-Semitism.

According to government reports, the chief sources of the hatred of Jews are native-born fascists, far-left political extremists and Muslim radicals. The physical attacks are mainly directed at Orthodox Jews, who are highly visible because of their skullcaps and traditional dress. Secular Jews, who are not as easily identifiable by their clothes, are less likely to be attacked.

The number of anti-Semitic incidents in Britain increased by 34 percent last year, according to records collected by the Community Security Trust, a charity that monitors anti-Semitism in Britain and is regularly cited in government reports for being more comprehensive than police data.

That was the biggest annual increase since 1984, when the charity began collecting figures. Based on current projections, the number of incidents this year is on track to equal last year's.

Many of the physical assaults on British Jews are committed by Muslim extremists who blame all Jews for the conditions of Palestinians in Israel and Israeli-occupied areas. According to a poll in the London Times in December 2005, 37 percent of Britain’s 2 million Muslims agreed that all 268,000 members of the Jewish community were legitimate targets because of Israel’s policies.

“Bigots try to make all Jews responsible for the actions of the only democratically elected government in the Middle East,” John Mann, a member of Parliament, told FOXNews.com. “Anti-Israeli sentiment does go over the line to anti-Semitism,” said Mann, who chaired a bipartisan committee that studied anti-Semitism in Britain.

Israel-bashing has been fueled in Britain by militant left-wing trade unionists, academics and some members of the British press who regard Israel as an apartheid state determined to eliminate the Palestinians.

A proposed academic boycott would end exchanges between British and Israeli universities. Then-Prime Minister Tony Blair called on academics to abandon plans to boycott Israeli universities during a speech in the House of Commons last month, saying a boycott would do absolutely “no good for the Middle East peace process.”

The demonization of Israel has heightened hostility toward Britain’s Jews. “Some of those who are hostile to Israel make no distinction between Israelis and Jews,” said the Parliamentary report.

Rabbi Alex Chapper recalled that he was a target of that hostility when he walked home from Sabbath services with some of his congregants two years ago in a London neighborhood that has a swelling Moslem population. The Jews were followed by a group of Muslim youth shouting anti-Semitic insults.

“We’re Pakistani,” one of the young people yelled. “You’re Jewish. We will kill you.” The rabbi said several of the youths threw punches at the Jews, until one of the congregants flagged down passing car and asked the driver to call the police. The assailants fled.

“Not a week goes by when someone doesn’t make anti-Semitic remarks to me when I’m walking to the synagogue for Sabbath services,” lamented the 34-year-old rabbi.

"People in passing cars give the Hitler salute, or they throw things at me. I wish I was in a place where I felt less threatened, but I am here. I have a job to do. I have to get on with it.”

Iranians desire regime change

Two polls show the majority of Iranians oppose the mullahcratic thugs who rule their country. The overwhelming majority of Iranians do not believe their country's role is positive and two-thirds support a "velvet revolution" to remove the tiny pipsqueak thug ahmadinejad from power. The poll also revealed that nearly 60% would support foreign military intervention to force mahmoud out of power.

The majority of Iranians, out of a sense of nationalism, do support Iran having access to nuclear technology, including military nuclear technology, however a plurality oppose this particular regime having nuclear bombs.

Iranians also oppose their rulers' support for hamas and hezbollah and disagree with its desire to wipe out Israel.

Among the questions, and their responses:

Should Iran possess nuclear technology? 78 percent yes. 18 percent no. 4 percent don't know.

Should Iran possess military nuclear technology? 72 percent yes. 8 percent no. 20 percent don't know.

Should Iran have the nuclear bomb? 46 percent yes. 47 percent no. 7 percent don't know.

Do you believe the Iranian government wants the nuclear bomb? 88 percent yes. 10 percent no. 2 percent don't know.

Will Western Europe accept a nuclear Iran? 52 percent yes. 47 percent no. 1 percent don't know.

"Perhaps the most important elements in both surveys were the implications they contained about attitudes towards the regime," Jabbari said. The TFT results show 61 percent opposed their current government, 79 percent said they wanted a democracy and "only 11 percent said they would strongly oppose having a political system in which all of their leaders, including the supreme leader are chosen by popular election."

"The CFPD survey went even further," Jabbari noted. "Fully 72 percent of Iranians said given the chance to go back they will not support an 'Islamic Revolution.' Sixty-seven percent do not consider the Islamic Republic to be a political system that satisfies the needs of the Iranian people."

He said 61 percent opposed the government's support for Hezbollah, 56 percent opposed support for Hamas, 70 percent did not advocate the destruction of Israel and two out of three disagreed with Ahmadinejad's claims casting doubt on the Holocaust.

The TFT survey was done by telephone from outside Iran, while the CFPD assessment was done in face-to-face interviews inside Iran.

"We … believe that the logical conclusion of both surveys is for the West to stop confusing the people of Iran with talks of engaging the very regime that Iranians consider to be extremely suppressive, incompetent and corrupt, and instead focus its attention on isolating that regime and supporting the people of Iran," Jabbari said.

"In pursuing our national security objectives in the region, our biggest assets are the interests we share with the people of Iran. Based on the facts uncovered by both surveys it would appear that clear cut Western support for democratic movements inside Iran, coupled with a policy of isolating that regime on the diplomatic and economic fronts, are not just welcome by the Iranian people but may indeed prove to be the only remedy for avoiding the need for military action against the Iranian regime."

The survey showed that 64 percent of Iranians believe there will be war to stop the nation's nuclear program, but only 14 percent believe Europe would participate in that. Forty-three percent of Iranians would support a military strike against the nuclear program, and 58 percent would support a military action to change the regime.

Only 32 percent said the Iranian political system satisfies the needs of Iranians, and only 43 percent said a "reformed" Iran could do that.

Jabbari told WND the Iranian people's nationalism was evident, but just as evident was the distrust they have for their government.

"They feel nobody has the right to come and tell Iran and Iranians that they don't have the right to have nuclear technology. The same majority believe that the government's intentions stating that this is only for peaceful purposes is not their true intention," he said.

HBO exalts terrorists

Powerline features a letter from the parents of 15 year old Malka Chana Roth, who was one of the numerous fatalities of the Sbarro pizza shop massacre on August 9, 2001. The Roths are protesting the sympathetic portrayal by HBO of the vicious murdering, subhuman monsters who murdered their daughter and so many others. To promote its horrendous movie "Hot House", which goes inside Israeli prisons to examine the lives of palestinian prisoners, HBO featured a smiling photo of the creature responsible for taking the life of Malka and the others in that Sbarro attack. This abhorrent beast is not sorry for what she did. I don't know why she is even allowed to live, nor the other terrorists for that matter, let alone allowed to be featured in a film extolling terrorists. Read the Roth's letter and view the sickening photo here.

The folks at HBO are disgraceful, shameless whores. Instead of glorifying terrorists, they should have made a film about the victims of terrorism such as Malki. This film and the promo along with it, is rubbing salt in the wounds of the Roth family. Israel's Education Ministry OK's teaching the 'nakba'

In yet another insane act of Israeli self-destruction, the ultra leftist head of Israel's Education Ministry, and Peace Now founder Prof.Yuli Tamir (Labor), has approved of allowing Arab-Israeli children to be taught the 'Nakba', the Arab version of Israel's founding as having been a tragedy. She also last year ordered that maps of Israel show the 1949 armistice line, which show Israel's borders prior to the '67 war. And while she opposes government subsidies for Jewish religious education, she favors Arab nationalist programs. What is it in the mindset of so many Jewish liberals which makes them identify with their Arab-muslim enemies and motivates them to assist in their own destruction?

The new directive approves a Grade 3 textbook "Living Together in Israel," which was written by Arabs who left their homes during the 1948 War of Independence and claim that Israel took their land. The textbook evenhandedly points out that the Arab nations refused to accept the United Nations partition plan creating the Jewish State and a new Trans-Jordan country.



"The Arab narrative deserves to be told in Israel," Tamir explained. Arab MKs congratulated her for her decision, though immediately raised new demands. Arab MK Hana Sweid said Tamir should now incorporate Arab poetry into Jewish school curricula, while MK Jamal Zechalke called for "Arab cultural autonomy" under which Arabs would solely determine Israeli-Arab schools' curricula regarding Arab history and culture.


Other Responses
Reactions from the right were very sharp. MK Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism) said that Prime Minister Olmert, as part of his gestures to PA chairman Abu Mazen, might as well propose that PA officials run Israel's Education Ministry. Porush said that Tamir's decision was shameful and should be retracted.


Former Education Minister Limor Livnat (Likud) declared that teaching Arab children the "Nakba" version of Israel's creation will encourage them to later work against the nation.



MK Zevulun Orlev (NRP), a former Director-General of the Education Ministry, called upon Prime Minister Olmert to fire Tamir for making an "anti-Zionist decision that erases Jewish history and denies the State of Israel as a Jewish state. The Education Minister gives Arabs the legitimacy not to recognize Israel as the State of the Jewish people. This decision marks the "Nakba" of Israel's education network."



Strategic Affairs Minister Avigdor Lieberman slammed Tamir as “expressing not only post-Zionism but also political masochism... The Israel left always complicates itself trying to justify the other side without understanding that there is nothing to justify.”



Moshe Feiglin, running for Likud Party Chairman on behalf of the party's Manhigut Yehudit (Jewish Leadership) faction, said, "If it is OK to teach Israeli[-Arab] schoolchildren that the Jewish victory in the War for Independence and the establishment of the Jewish State are actually a catastrophe, this means that the State of Israel is an illegitimate and temporary body... Philippine jihad

The Philippines are coming closer to all out war against jihadist forces as a result of a wave of killings of its marines, many having been beheaded, by the abu sayyaf terror group. This is just one more front in what is essentially WW3. We are not fighting a war on terrorism, terrorism is the tactic used by jihadists to wage its war against the rest of the world. We are at war with islam. I'm tired of western leaders being afraid to acknowledge this fact outright, whether due to being sensitive to muslim feelings, or more likely out of fear of provoking further muslim wrath by calling this war what it truly is, a war with islam.

ABU Sayyaf guerillas killed two Philippines marines on remote Jolo island yesterday as the troubled south braced for the army's threatened "all-out war" on Islamist forces blamed for a wave of murders and beheadings.

The fighting brought to 16 the death toll for the beleaguered crack force of the Philippines military.

It followed last week's killings of 14 marines, 10 of whom were beheaded after the badly outnumbered forces were ambushed by Islamic separatists and suspected members of the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf on Basilan island.

The preparation for a large-scale military offensive in the south is another setback in the regional "war on terrorism".

US-assisted Philippines troops had earlier largely "neutralised" Basilan island, once an Abu Sayyaf stronghold, and isolated fugitive terrorists such as Bali bomb planners Dulmatin and Umar Patek further south on Jolo island. Now thousands of villagers are fleeing parts of Basilan island in anticipation of the military assault.

Before yesterday's encounter with the al-Qa'ida-linked Abu Sayyaf, suspected of hiding Dulmatin and Patek, President Gloria Arroyo ordered the army to hunt down the "savages" responsible for last week's murders and beheadings.

The head of the Philippines armed forces, General Hermogenes Esperon, said the army would find the perpetrators.

But he would not rule out a full-scale military assault, not seen since Muslim secessionists from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) signed a ceasefire with Manila in 2003.

"All options are open to us but we must first get the perpetrators. All-out war is one of the alternatives, but it could be the last resort," General Esperon said.

Peace negotiators fear the fragile talks between the MILF and Manila, and the prospects for an end to the clashes between Muslims and Christians in the south that have killed 100,000, will collapse as the military seeks to avenge the killings. Hundreds of troops have been shipped in to Basilan island, off Mindanao, amid outrage over the killings, which took place as a team of more than 50 marines were searching for kidnapped Italian priest Giancarlo Bossi.

Ten of the 14 murdered marines were badly mutilated and beheaded, some with their limbs, ears and genitals reportedly hacked off, during the day-long battle with hundreds of MILF and suspected fighters from the outlawed Abu Sayyaf.

Wounded marines watched helplessly as their comrades were decapitated and "cut to pieces", acts condemned by marine commandant Major General Nelson Allaga as pure "sadism" and cowardice.

The MILF released a statement pleading with President Arroyo's Government to avoid "collective punishment" for the beheadings.

It refused to surrender its troops, and claimed 30, not 14 marines were killed during the "legitimate" clashes on Basilan last week. Some MILF leaders suggested the beheadings were a local response to the killing of an imam during the clashes.

Religion of slaughtering children

Six children were slaughtered in Somalia by jihadist savages on Thursday as they played soccer. The actual target was a building where a peace conference was being held, but as far as these bloodthirsty monsters are concerned, I'm sure the children are considered martyrs for the cause. Wherever muslims are a significant portion of the population, there is major unrest, and massive and horrific violence. Note to Mel Gibson: Muslims are the cause of all the wars in the world.

The conference had opened briefly Sunday, but was postponed after eight mortar rounds landed near the venue. The meeting has been delayed several times due to violence and infighting.

In the latest shelling, residents near the conference in a northern part of the Somali capital heard five mortar explosions, said police Col. Abdi Shino, who added that none hit the venue.

The reconciliation conference began hours after a short gunbattle killed at least two people.

More than 1,200 delegates were tackling issues that have stoked Somalia's 16-year conflict, such as clan arguments, looted property, a new constitution and general elections by 2009, said Ali Mahdi Mohamed, the organizing committee's chairman.

Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi said the Mogadishu conference was "historic," despite opposition.

Abdirahman Mohamud Shift, a conference spokesman, said organizers hoped the talks would last a month. He said the talks would resume Saturday.

The reconciliation conference was a key requirement of the transitional charter that led to the government's 2004 formation.

Only junior representatives of the Hawiye, a major clan, attended the opening. Hawiye elders have been key critics of the conference, questioning its independence of government interference.

Late Wednesday, a battle between government soldiers and suspected insurgents broke out near Mogadishu's Bakaara Market.

"It was the worst gunbattle I have ever heard. They used all sorts of weapons, heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades," said Mohamud Ibrahim, who watched from a hotel's rooftop.

A government soldier and a civilian were killed, police said.

Over the weekend, Islamic militants threatened to disrupt the gathering, saying anyone who takes part "is sentenced to death." The threat came from the Shabab, the militant wing of an Islamic group that ruled much of southern Somalia for six months last year. The group was driven from its strongholds in December, but vowed to launch an Iraq-style insurgency until Somalia is ruled by an Islamic theocracy.

Mogadishu has seen little peace since government troops backed by Ethiopian forces drove Islamic hard-liners out. Bombs, attacks on government installations, assassination attempts and gunbattles are common, with civilians caught in the crossfire.

The government said the Shabab's threats would not disrupt the conference. Somali and Ethiopian troops patrolled the streets and dozens of checkpoints were set up along roads.

Somalia has been mired in chaos since 1991, when warlords overthrew dictator Mohamed Siad Barre and then turned against one another. The United Nations-backed government has struggled to assert control since it formed in 2004.

Uganda has about 1,700 troops in Somalia, as the vanguard of an African Union peacekeeping force, though so far no other countries have sent reinforcements. On Wednesday, the AU voted to extend its mission for another six months until January 2008.

Birds of a feather

The brutal terrorist tyrants, mahmoud ahmadinejad and basher assad, which rule Iran and Syria respectively, met in Damascus Thursday, making the usual threats against Israel and America. GIL Chairman Rafi Eitan correctly says this proves that Israel should not open negotiations with Syria. Olmert is a complete fool if he enters into negotiations with this thug, who is no better than his genocidal Iranian friend. Both want Israel to be wiped out. I wouldn't put it past Olmert to make some deal with assad and surrender the Golan Heights.

The Iranian president's talks with Assad focused on the Iraq situation, Palestinian territories and Lebanon, where both Teheran and Damascus wield influence.

"The enemies of the region should abandon plans to attack the interests of this region, or they would be burned by the wrath of the region's peoples," the hardline Iranian leader said at a joint press conference with Assad.

Ahmadinejad, accompanied by a high-level delegation, was greeted at Damascus airport by Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem ahead of the official reception by Assad at the People's Palace. Assad was sworn in Tuesday for a second seven-year term.

He described Syrian-Iranian relations as "amicable, excellent and extremely deep," adding that the two countries have common stands on regional issues and face common enemies.

Assad said Ahmadinejad's visit came in the context of the continuous developing relations between the two nations whose "farsighted policies" have proven to be correct.

The Syrian leader said they also discussed "ways of restoring dialogue among all Palestinian factions." Syria also backed Iran's right to pursue a nuclear program and the two called for the "departure of all occupation forces" from Iraq - a reference to US troops.

Also Thursday, following a surprise meeting with Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah in Damascus, Ahmadinejad said that it was going to be a "hot" summer in the Middle East.

Nasrallah allegedly entered Syria via an underground tunnel, Channel 10 said.

"We hope that the hot weather of this summer will coincide with similar victories for the region's peoples, and with consequent defeat for the region's enemies," Ahmadinejad added, in an apparent reference to Israel.

Earlier, Ahmadinejad told Islamic Jihad Secretary General Ramdan-Abdullah Shalakh that Iran's role in the Middle East was "to support the armed struggle of the Palestinian people."
The Iranian president stressed the importance of unity between all Palestinian factions.

Ahmadinejad also called on all countries in the region to be vigilant of Israel's attempts to revive itself following its "failure" of the Second Lebanon War.

Clearly these two vicious thugs are on a war-footing, therefore what Israel and America need to be doing instead of considering what kind of deals to make, we should be discussing ways to preemptively obliterate these regimes.

Christian Zionists descend on D.C.

An event sponsored by Christians United for Israel, founded by Texas pastor John Hagee two years ago, drew around 4,500 people. The messages sent to the White House and Congress were 'Move the US Embassy to Jerusalem' and 'Neutralize the Iranian nuclear threat.'

Presidential candidates were invited to speak at a banquet on Monday night and a special "Night to honor Israel" on Tuesday.

Former Speaker of the House and potential Republican candidate for the presidency Newt Gingrich used the occasion to fire a broadside at the Bush administration for its policy on the Palestinian Arabs.

He said President George W. Bush could easily "send a signal to Hamas tomorrow morning" by moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Post quoted Gingrich as warning that the US was "in greater danger than you can imagine.

"We lie to ourselves. We have suffered in the West an enormous defeat in Gaza. We have suffered a significant defeat in South Lebanon, and we lie about it. We don't have a peace process. We have a surrender process," he said.

Arizona Senator John McCain, a declared Republican candidate, also addressed the gathering, saying that radical Islam was perhaps "the greatest evil" Israel and America have ever faced.

He further warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is arming Iran and Syria, "wants somehow to restore the old Russian empire."

And he said it was vitaly important that the US win its war in Iraq and not be driven out by Iran's proxy insurgency forces.

A premature American withdrawal would spark a regional conflagration, he said.

Restoring family "honor" through rape, torture and murder

The sickening, ghastly, horrific details of the brutal murder of the young Kurdish woman Banaz Mahmod have been revealed. The woman's depraved father and uncle had her murdered simply because she wanted out of a marriage that these sadistic beasts forced upon her at the age of 17, and fell in love with another man they did not consider islamic enough. The two were sentenced to life in prison. The father Mahmod Mahmod will serve a minimum of 20 years and his brother Ari will receive at least 23 years. The young woman was brutally raped and tortured for two hours.

One of her killers, the Old Bailey was told, was 30-year-old Mohamad Hama, who had been recruited by Banaz's father Mahmod Mahmod, 52, and his brother Ari, 51.

Both were found guilty of murder last month.

The shocking details of the killing came to light when Hama was secretly recorded talking to a friend in prison.

He admitted "slapping" and "f***ing" Banaz, who was subjected to degrading sex acts.

Hama and his friend were heard laughing as he described how she was killed in her family home in Mitcham, South London, with Ari Mahmod "supervising".

The murderers - two other suspects have fled to Iraq - had been told Banaz would be on her own.

Hama is recorded as saying: "Ari (the uncle) said there is no one there. There was someone there, Biza (her sister). The bastard lied to us."

He said of the murder: "I swear to God it took him more than two hours. Her soul and her life would not leave."

Banaz was garotted for five minutes, said Hama, but it took another half an hour for her to die.

Hama said: "The wire was thick and the soul would not just leave like that.

"We could not remove it. All in all it took five minutes (to strangle) her.

"I was kicking and stamping on her neck to get the soul out. I saw her stark naked, without wearing pants or underwear."

Banaz's body was packed into a suitcase and buried in a garden in Birmingham, where it was found three months later.

Life in prison is not nearly enough of a punishment for these creatures. I think they should be tortured for life and castrated. This hideous depravity and brutality is why I have such contempt for islam. It breeds a kind of sickness of the mind that would lead a father to have his own daughter raped, tortured and murdered in the name of restoring some perverse sense of "honor". I do feel that islam is a serious mental illness. It certainly is not a religion as far as I'm concerned. It should be considered a death cult.

Israelis making the world a better place

Israel is providing eye care treatment for South Sudanese refugees in Kenya

Over the past few months the Center for International Cooperation (MASHAV) at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been in touch with the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) office in Nairobi to offer assistance to South Sudanese refugees at the Kakuma refugee camp in Northern Kenya. The Kakuma camp, located in Kenya about 50 kilometers from the Sudanese border, houses over 75,000 people, mostly South Sudanese refugees.

Dr. Yossi Baratz, MASHAV’s medical projects coordinator in Africa in cooperation with the UNHCR set up a temporary eye clinic near the camp utilizing medical material purchased beforehand by MASHAV. The clinic serves as the base for two Israeli ophthalmologists Dr. Drora Zarfati from Ha’Emek Hospital in Afula and Dr. Nir Zaider from Rambam Hospital in Haifa, who arrived on a two-week mission on July 2nd, 2007, to perform eye-sight restoring surgical procedures, and treat ocular diseases.

For many years MASHAV has been conducting blindness prevention and eye-care missions in partner countries. These missions, designed to treat patients suffering from various degrees of blindness and ocular disease, are undertaken by teams of 2 Israeli ophthalmologists and operate on the premises of local hospitals or clinics. Hundreds of surgical procedures are performed by the visiting Israeli teams which work together with local staff, restoring sight to many of the patients. Israeli ophthalmologists also train the local personnel, and ophthalmologic equipment and supplies are donated by the Government of Israel.

The sad, sick and twisted reality is that this nation and its people who are bringing so much positive contributions to mankind in the realms of science, technology, medicine and the arts, is the nation which has almost pariah status, and the nation which the world is at best indifferent to its survival. Yet its numerous enemy neighbors, who's only contributions are hatred, death and destruction on a massive scale are the ones which garner the world's sympathies and support.

Freed terrorists arrive in Ramallah

The 250 fatah terrorist scum have been released and have made their way to Ramallah. The prisoners signed a pledge promising not to engage in terrorism. I'm sure Israelis feel safe in the knowledge that these terrorists are now reformed and have no intention of perpetrating any further attacks. I'm also quite sure the 250 prisoners are laughing their asses off at the stupidity of the Israeli government.

While in Ramallah, the terrorists placed wreathes at the grave of arafat, how heartwarming.

Not surprisingly, the High Court of Justice rejected a petition submitted by the Almagor Terror Victims Association in which the group argued that "the cabinet should have no access to anything connected with convicted prisoners."

Attorney Naftali Wertzberger, representing Almagor, argued before the court that the "use of prisoners [for political gain] who have been sentenced in a court and jailed is unlawful. The idea that prisoners, just because they belong to Fatah, merit an end-of-season price like this is just too much."

Meanwhile, Israel's soldier is still being held by hamas without even as much as allowing the Red Cross to visit. The Olmert government just disgusts me, its one disasterous policy decision after another.

Israel is not to blame for islamic terrorism

During his visit to Canada last week, Jordan's King Abdullah said that the core of the problems plaguing the Middle East is the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"(If) we don't have a two-state solution, therefore we have no peace between Israelis and Palestinians; we have no peace between Israelis and Palestinians, how can we broker a peace between Israelis and Arabs and Muslims?"

Of course it's to be expected that an Arab leader will never publicly blame the arabs and muslims themselves for their multitude of problems. But what is disturbing is that much of the opinion elite in the west holds the absurd notion that Israel's behavior is the source of the radicalism and terrorism emanating from the Middle East and throughout the muslim world. The Iraq study group pushed the ludicrous idea in its report that one of the solutions for ending the chaos in Iraq was through solving the Israeli-palestinian conflict, which is always a code phrase for the U.S. to pressure Israel into concessions in order for us to get into the good graces of the Arabs. What Israel has to do with Sunnis and Shiites slaughtering each other in Iraq is beyond me. Ironically the study also suggests that while we get tougher on Israel, which has nothing to do with the situation in Iraq, we ought to go softer on the two regimes that are mostly responsible for the bloodletting in Iraq, which of course are Syria and Iran.

If we look at the myriad of conflicts around the world which involve
muslims, none of them have anything to do with Israel.

First off there is Afghanistan where for years after the Soviets were defeated, various tribal groups were warring with each other until the taliban took power. Even though we overthrew the taliban in 2001, we continue to fight them and al qaeda, which is trying to retake control of the country and reinstitute oppressive sharia law. Barbaric muslim fanatics are blowing up schools and murdering women for not wearing burkas and so forth.

There is Algeria, where a civil war which began in 1991 between the government and various armed islamic groups killed an estimated 150,000-200,000 people. The conflict effectively ended with a government victory, following the surrender of the Islamic Salvation Army and the 2002 defeat of the Armed Islamic Group. However, low-level fighting still continues in some areas.

Ongoing conflict in the Caucasus. The Central Asian republics have a long history of conflicts. Fighting breaks out regularly between warlords and religious groups calling for the establishment of Islamic states outside the Russian Federation. There is also the Chechyan muslims who claim independence from Russia and have carried out terrorist attacks such as the atrocity of the seizure of a school in Beslan, North Ossetia, in September 2004, which resulted in more than 300 deaths.


In Egypt, Coptic Christians are being persecuted and the radical muslim brotherhood seeks to overthrow the secular Mubarak regime.

In Indonesia 500 churches have been burned down or damaged by muslims over the last several years and Christian schoolgirls were beheaded.

In India and Kashmir muslim separatists have declared holy war and have perpetrated attacks on Hindus. In Pakistan islamist fanatics have bombed CD and DVD stores as well as barber shops because they oppose men shaving their beards. They also threaten the regime of Pervez Mushariff who has had to use brute force to crush the rebellions such as what ocurred at the Red mosque.

In Kosovo, Albanian muslims have burned down dozens of centuries-old Christian churches. In an effort to establish a Greater Albania, Albanian Muslim rebels also launched attacks in Macedonia.

In Nigeria, there are violent religious clashes in the city of Kaduna in northern Nigeria beginning February 21 2004 and have continued. The clashes followed a march by tens of thousands of Christians to protest the proposal to introduce Muslim sharia law as the criminal code throughout Kaduna state. Reports speak of rival armed gangs of Christians and Muslims roving the streets. Churches and mosques have been put to the torch. Corpses were seen lying in the streets and people's bodies hanging out of cars and buses, apparently killed while attempting to flee the violence. Local human rights workers said that more than 400 had been killed as a result of the clashes.

In the Sudan, Arab muslims are committing genocide against the black Christian and muslim population.

And in the Philipines, the armed forces have been fighting the terrorist abu sayaf group, which seeks a separate muslim state from the mostly Christian Philipines. The group has kidnapped and beheaded Americans, which has led to the U.S. sending in special forces to aid the Philipino army.

And in Thailand, in the three muslim majority provinces in the south, muslims, who want separation from the rest of Thailand to form their own sharia state, have been waging a brutal terror war in which Buddhists have been victimized by bombings, drive-by shootings and beheadings.

In light of these brutal conflicts being waged by muslims around the world, it is simply preposterous to believe that these will all come to an end if only Israel cedes territory to the palestinians.

Israel pays terrorists to end violence

According to Debkafile, the Bush administration, at the behest of the saudis, is producing a master plan to manipulate Israel into easing out of the west bank. As part of this plan, Israel has paid cash to hamas and islamic jihad to end their violence against Israel.

Israel's cooperation with this plan is supposedly what was behind president Bush's Monday speech regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as the Olmert-Abbas meeting.

Last week, Olmert announced 250 jailed Palestinians, excluding Hamas gunmen, would be released as a gesture of support for the Palestinian leader. In another gesture, Palestinian Liberation Organization faction leaders - all radicals and including at least one master-terrorist fugitive - will be allowed to travel to Ramallah.

Sunday, the first of the 178 wanted Palestinian terrorists, including 150 of the violent Fatah-al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, paraded the handing over of their weapons and signing of pledges of non-violence. The gunmen exited the show armed with nothing more than cell phones for the benefit of television cameras. They did not display the money in their pockets, around $6 million of Israeli cash. Each Palestinian gunman was paid up to IS.100,000 ($24,000) for surrendering his sidearm out of the tax funds Israel released to Fatah prime minister Salim Fayyad.

For this price, the 178 and certainly none of the 2,500 al Aqsa members, were required to give up their caches of explosives, roadside bombs, grenades and rocket-propelled grenades. That was left for the second stage and will entail a much higher ransom.

Washington sees nothing amiss in making Israel pay through the nose to terrorists. After all, the US is spending good Saudi cash to win the support of Sunni Muslim insurgents in Iraq.

In Israel’s long experience however Palestinian terrorists never stay bought. Already DEBKAfile’s Palestinian sources report that the “disarmed” al Aqsa gunmen are getting ready for more monetary demands, failing which attacks will be resumed. Their pretext will come out pat: Israel is reneging on their immunity deal.

The direction Washington is forcing on Israel is betrayed by a telltale anomaly. Three days before the group of terrorists handed in their weapons, Israel forces halted the pursuit of all wanted terrorists on the West Bank. Officially, only these Fatah terrorists were granted a three-month amnesty on probation, so why did the IDF give up hunting Hamas, Jihad Islami and Palestinian radical Front gunmen as well? After all, the object of the amnesty exercise designed in Washington was presented as necessary to bolster and arm Mahmoud Abbas’ Ramallah-based Fatah government against those very rivals.

To explain this, DEBKAfile’s military sources disclose another concealed element of the plan.

In the interests of the maneuver, the Fatah al Aqsa Brigades secretly incorporated armed Hamas and Jihad Islami adherents, boosting their number to 4.500. Olmert, Barak, Gen. Dayton and Abbas himself played along with misrepresenting the amnesty as applying only to 178 Fatah members in order to make it more palatable in the US and Israel and open the way for stage three of the master plan. After they took the pledge, the remaining 4,320 are still armed to the teeth.

Thousands of Fatah will now don fresh uniforms and join up with the Palestinian Authority’s security forces, purportedly to fight radical terrorists and quell violence. Their main incentive for pretending to go straight is a regular wage, presenting Israel with a monthly bill running into many millions of shekels.

They are also demanding a prestige boost.

According to our sources, Gen. Dayton has promised these apparently reformed 178 terrorists - not smart suits and ties, but advanced military hardware, armored vehicles and 4x4s equipped with state of the art communications gear for them to lord it over the West Bank.

Sunday night, July 15, there were reports that Israel was now being asked to give Palestinian security forces the freedom to range over the West Bank. In other words, the IDF is under pressure to abandon its highly-successful system of manned military roadblocks and checkpoints and counter-terror arrest raids, which reduced almost to zero the years of Palestinian suicide attacks in which Fatah played a leading part.

The elements are therefore in place for beginning to ease Israeli troops out of the West Bank and requiring them to hand over the responsibility for fighting terror to the Palestinians.

Prime minister Olmert has performed the difficult task of putting Israeli opinion to sleep while quietly embarking on a dangerous gamble with national security. Once it is discovered, he relies on the public’s faulty memory not to recall the abysmal failure of every accord Israel forged with the Palestinians for ending terrorist violence in the past seven years, in 2000, 2003 and 2005. Each broke down in an upsurge of hostile violence in support of ever stiffer demands for more Israeli concessions.

President Bush and his secretary of state are badly in need of tidings that can be presented as a big breakthrough for their Middle East policies, however short term. They will therefore push their plan through over the coming weeks. Olmert and Co. will not dare rain on their parade.

Muslims desecrate the Temple Mount

There's no end to the hypocrisy of islamosupremacists. Remember 5 months ago when Israel was constructing a new walkway in the vicinity of the Temple mount because the original stone ramp leading up to the Mughrabi gate was removed, having been deemed unsafe by city engineers. As a result, the muslim world raised its voices in outrage, accusing Israel of endangering the mosque, even though the work being done was outside the confines of the Temple Mount and also with complete archeological supervision. Israel eventually halted the construction due to the muslim world's uproar.

Yet last week, on the Temple Mount itself and without supervision, the muslim wakf was carrying out destructive excavations, desecrating Judaism's holiest site. The worst part about this is that the Israeli authorities, in abject fear of muslims, refuse to put a stop to it. Muslims, with their sense of entitlement and supremacy, willfully desecrate others religious holy sites and symbols while at the same time expect their own to be respected through threats of extreme violence to keep the infidels in line. So, for the sake of not provoking the muslims and keeping the calm, Israel allows this desecration of the Temple Mount and its artifacts to continue unchallenged. Sadly, Israel today is lead by weak, feckless people with no sense of Jewish pride or self-respect whatsoever. And its not just the leadership, but the great majority of the Jewish people in Israel and the diaspora themselves who keep silent, afraid to stand up in their own defense lest the muslims get too angry and the rest of the world blames the Jews for the subsequent violent actions of the muslims.

A bulldozer was seen last week ripping up earth on the Temple Mount, at the Dome of the Rock platform. It slashed a long gash, purportedly to lay new electric cables. With crude, damaging handling, it exposed a largely gray deposit, which according to archeologists is a sure-fire indication of "archeologically significant" matter.

Incomprehensibly, despite TV air-time and print space, these revelations by the Archeologists Committee for the Prevention of the Destruction of Antiquities on the Temple Mount (CPDATM) failed to cause much stir. The public has perhaps grown numb due to official abdication of control on the Mount. But the expedient turning of official blind eyes amounts to abetting the Wakf's ongoing construction at Judaism's most sacred site.

How does heavy earth-moving equipment climb to the Mount's top without anyone knowing? It doesn't. Someone tolerates its presence. In fact, three tractors of different sizes and capabilities are reportedly permanently kept by the Muslim Wakf on the compound. The CPDATM has long demanded their removal, to no avail. These are used, at the whim of the Wakf, to carry out harmful excavations without any archeological supervision.

In one of these tractor's latest escapades, it broke the earth roughly and hollowed out a long trench varying in depth from 50 to 100 centimeters. Signs of ancient architecture were exposed beneath the current platform slabs. The bedrock at this site is no deeper than the dig, hence whatever soil was overturned would have contained whatever artifacts could be found at that maximum depth. This travesty was perpetrated with Israeli policemen stationed nearby. Archeological supervision was nowhere to be detected.

Only videos taken with a hidden camera brought to the fore the destructive work at the site associated with Jewish history's most sensitive relics. The officers on hand, moreover, according to testimony by archeologist Prof. Yisrael Caspi, CPDATM head, forbade him from picking any remains out of the rubble.

Caspi and other archeologists were warned that they had better not even try to bend down, lest they stretch out an arm to touch anything. A policeman was finally dispatched to maintain particular vigilance against Prof. Eilat Mazar, most suspected of a proclivity to lay a hand on a pottery shard. Speaking for the CPDATM, Mazar expressed "the deepest distress at the continued official disregard and disrespect for the incalculable archeological importance of the Temple Mount.
